The PICANet Data Dashboard has been updated with provisional data from April – June 2024. Data for the whole of 2023 and January – March 2024 have also been refreshed.

We are excited to share that we are moving to monthly Data Dashboard updates from November! Thank you to the participating organisations for prompt submission of quality data making this possible.

PICANet will be closed for the Summer Bank Holiday on Monday 26^th August and the University of Leeds will also be closed on Tuesday 27^th August.

PICANet are piloting an interim data clean in Autumn this year for Level 3 PCCUs and Transport Organisations. Tailored feedback on your organisation’s data quality will be provided, focusing on areas where you can have the biggest impact with the aim of reducing the burden on you at the annual clean.

Full details have been sent by email to your unit’s leads, primary contacts and staff who receive validation emails, keep an eye out in your inbox!

PICANet, based at the Universities of Leeds and Leicester, will be closed for the Easter break from Thursday 28^th March – Tuesday 2^nd April 2024 inclusive. The University of Leicester will also be closed on Wednesday 3^rd April.

The COVID-19 Customised Data Collection will be available for admissions and transports to PICU up to and including 31 January 2024. Thereafter, the tabs will only be open for data entry and validation of records for admissions and transports on and prior to 31 January.

The collection of this data has supported the understanding of COVID-19 and paediatric inflammatory multisystem syndrome temporally associated with SARS-CoV-2 (PIMS-TS) in PICU and we thank the participating organisations for the effort that they have put into this collection.

The PICANet dataset for the period 01.01.2021 to 31.12.2023 will be frozen at 12 midnight on 01st March 2024; therefore, it is essential that by the close of Thursday 29th February, all event data for this period is completed and all validation queries resolved. 

For children admitted prior to 31st December 2023 who remain as inpatients on your PICU please ensure that all daily intervention data up to and including 31st December 2023 is complete. 

The data freeze has been brought forward this year as planned, in line with the reduction in the submission time of data to PICANet from three months to two months (PCCS standards 2021). 

Thank you all for your efforts to work to enter and validate the data. We look forward to publishing the level 3 National Paediatric Critical Care Audit State of the Nation Report 2024 later this year.  

PICANet, based at the Universities of Leeds and Leicester, will be closed during the academic Christmas holiday.

Support from the PICANet team will be available up until Thursday 21^st December 2023.

If any queries, including technical support queries, are received after 21^st December, we will respond to them when our offices re-open on 2^nd January 2024.
